Project Info

The $11.5MM project consisted of the demolition of a two-lane bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad, and the construction of a four-lane replacement bridge. In addition to the new bridge structure, accompanying utility work, grading, and paving allowed Route 17 to be turned into a four-lane roadway. A second bridge, over Pamlico River, was rehabilitated as part of this contract.
