The 12 Twelve

The 12 Twelve Charlottesville, VA This $4.2 Million project included a 25,000 square foot,four-story luxury apartment building, located near the Barracks Road shopping district and UVA facilities. It was designed to meet young professional’s desires of luxury kitchens and baths, built-in closets and storage, and high-end finishes. The building has on-grade parking located beneath the structure. CCG provided design/build services for all mechanical, electrical, tele/data, and security systems and performed remediation on the adjacent stream which created a more natural stream path, stream-crossing rock pathways, and deeper pools to accommodate a diverse aquatic environment. Poor soils required the foundation to be undercut by as much as 10 feet and backfilled with lean concrete. Gropen

Gropen Charlottesville, VA This new 26,000 sf office and fabrication building combined the existing renovated building with a new pre-engineered building designed to have a crisp, modern motif. This joint project with Design Develop worked through multiple design and cost studies that ultimately presented the solution of two-story open office space and adjacent work area with a23-foot clearance required to construct Gropen’s large exterior signs. CCG is a Varco Pruden pre-engineered building authorized dealer, making it possible to execute this design. Kents Store Fire Station

Kents Store Fire Station Kents Store, VA CMS designed this fire station in-house using conventional construction methods where the apparatus bay was masonry bearing with light gauge metal trusses, and the admin building was stick framed lumber. The main challenge of the project was that the station and the apparatus had to remain in service and in a conditioned space during the construction. Water in the equipment could not be in an unheated environment. Our design allowed the existing station to remain in place and operation, a requirement of the contract while constructing the new apparatus bay. We moved the apparatus, demolished the old station, and built the administration building on site.
